Sorry I have been MIA.

Hey guys sorry I haven't posted in a while. My laptop is broken. =[ I am taking it into the shop tomorrow and that usually takes about two weeks to get it fixed. I am currently on the desktop computer, and it is just not the same. I will post a couple entries, but not how much I would like to because of the laptop. So just wait it out for a couple more weeks and I will be posting a lot more often. Also, if you would like anything specific to review leave me a comment and I will look into it! Thanks guys!

Review: Chi Silk Infusion

I bought Chi Silk infusion about a month ago. I got it for $13.50USD at a local beauty supply store. I thought it was a little expensive for just a little 2oz bottle of it. I heard rave reviews on numerous beauty sites, and on youtube. Folica.com says, "CHI Silk Infusion helps strengthen your hair, providing incredible softness, manageability and shine without any build-up. Alcohol free, enriched with pure silk and wheat and soy proteins." It is supposed to strengthen your hair if you use a lot of heat on your hair. Having curly hair I do put a lot of heat on my hair. I either blow dry it curly, or I straighten it.
Unfortunately, it didn't work out so well for me. It left my hair having this weird film on it. I at first used a dime size amount and thought maybe that was too much. So I applied a pea size amount, and it still left my hair that way. Then I heard to apply it when your hair is dry. I was using it when my hair is wet, because I figured it is supposed to strengthen the hair and then protect it from heat, and so I should put it in before I blow dry my hair. After hearing to put it in dry, I tried that and it still left my hair feeling like it had this weird film on it. It also weighted it down, and made my hair look kind of greasy. Again, I tried not using that much at all and it still did this. I really wanted to love this product, because I had heard so many great reviews on it. I thought maybe I was doing it wrong, and I looked up information on it, and I don't think I am. I don't know why it leaves my hair feeling this way but it does.

My Skin Care Routine.

So this post will be just about my skin care routine, and it will also have little mini reviews of the things that I use.
First of all, I use a makeup remover to take all of my makeup off. Not just my eye makeup, I also take off my face makeup. It is very important step. Most people think that their cleanser will take off their foundation. A face cleanser is not meant to take off makeup, it is meant to clean your face. I really like the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. These are very inexpensive. They usually run about 5-7 dollars. I really like these because you can either get them in plastic box, or in the little bag they come with. I got them in the plastic box for the first time, then I just buy the little bag kind to refill it. Tip: Store your makeup removing wipes upside down so the top wipes do not dry out. This makeup remover gets everything off! Even waterproof mascara. It does not feel oily at all, and it makes my skin feel nice and soft. Sometimes at night I just wipe off my makeup and put some moisturizer on.
After I remove my makeup I exfoliate. It is an important step, it removes all the dead skin cells. I like the St. Ive's Apricot Scrub because it is cheap, and I use the one with salicylic acid because I feel that it helps keep the blemishes away. Most people say to use this 2-3 times a week. I like using it whenever I feel like I need it. It really helps to get rid of the dead skin, and makes my face feel so nice and smooth and kind of brightens it up a bit.
Now for my actual face wash. I use the Clinique 3-Step System. This can be expensive for some people, but it really is the only thing that works for my skin type. The whole set is around 50 dollars. The cleanser and the toner last me a good six months or more, and the moisturizer has lasted me well over a year, and I still have half of it left. You do not need to use a lot for this to work. With the cleanser I clean my face twice at the same time. I use half a pump each time, so I only use one pump every time I wash my face. I wash my face the first time to get rid of any thing that is left on my face, and the second time is to actually clean my pores. I know it seems repetitive, but once I started to do this I really seen a difference in my skin. Now for the toner, it is really important to use a toner. When you wash your face you also wash off the good things that are in your skin. A toner will restore the pH balance in the skin. That is why I like Clinique, because they have different toners for different skin types and so it will really restore the pH balance in the skin. That is also why it is important to go to a Clinique counter to get the right skin type. A lot of people said Clinique doesn't work for them, and it is probably because they were not using the right one for their skin type. Also it is good to try any skin regime for at least a month because that is the only way to know that it is working for you or not. It takes a month for your skin to get used to something new.(Although, if you have an allergic reaction please stop using it immediately.) Also, if something is breaking you out, it is probably actually working and bringing everything out of your pores. Anyways, back on the subject. After I use the toner if I need to I will use the spot treatment Zapzyt which is in the post before this one. After that I finish up with the dramatically different moisturizer. They have a gel moisturizer for people with oily skin also. I have also included an eye cream recently.I use Clinique's All About Eyes Rich I use it more for under eye circles and puffiness. This one retails for $27.00USD which is pretty expensive for such a little jar. (.5oz) Although, you only have to use the tiniest amount. I think this one will last me for at least a year. I really like this one. Around this time my eyes are puffy and dark from allergies and I have not had that problem since I have been using this product. They also have one that isn't 'rich' and that one is the same product just the rich one has more moisturizing properties. The other eye cream is more for people with oily skin types and that do not need the extra moisturizer.
So I believe that this post is long enough. Kudos to you if you read it all. =] If you need the pricing info for any of the products I mentioned, please check your local area as prices do vary. Although, on the Clinique stuff the prices are the same and you can get pricing info at www.clinique.com. They also have an online quiz you can do to see the right skin type.
Thanks for reading!

Review: Zapzyt with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide

So if you have read my last post than you will know about my little problem I am having with my skin. If not, I'll fill you in. I used the Maybelline Dream Mousse Liquid Foundation and it broke me out really bad. So if you guys are wondering Zapzyt is AMAZING! It does not get rid of the problem overnight, but it made a significant difference. I do not put this all over my whole face, just on my problem areas. I put this on after my toner, and before my moisturizer. I was scared that it would dry out my skin even more. It has not done that at all. My skin is normally pretty dry, especially in the winter. It doesn't really have a scent that I can tell. The texture is more gel like than cream like, and it just get absorbed into the skin and doesn't leave any traces of it. There are like little balls of something in it, and I think that is the case with all things containing benzoyl peroxide. When I tried Proactiv it had the little balls in it, and so did the benzoyl peroxide I got from my doctor. This was pretty cheap too, it was $3.99USD at my local Walmart. Prices do vary a couple dollars depending on where you live. I would say it's in the 3-7US dollar range. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has a sudden break out. It has really helped me with my problem I have had recently. =]

Review: Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation

This foundation is supposed to be the liquid version of the Dream Matte Mousse. I had wanted to try a liquid foundation, because I was noticing that the powder I was using was starting to dry out some areas on my face. I got it for about 7 dollars at my local walmart. I got it in shade Light 02. I really like the coverage this gave me. This is not a full coverage foundation, it gave me a very natural look. I somewhat shy away from liquid foundations because I feel like they make my skin look fake. This gave me a very even skin tone, and like I said I really liked the coverage it gave me. This foundation gave me light to medium coverage, and it really evened out my skin tone. I do not normally have blemishes or things I need to cover, I just put foundation to even out my skin tone. The shade matched my skin perfectly. I put this on with MAC's 109 brush and it did give me that airbrush finish that the company promises. You have to be quick with this foundation because it dries very fast. I pump it on the back of my hand and because it dries so fast that I have to use more than one pump sometimes because the extra foundation I have on my hand is already dry when I am done putting it on my face. The pump is a very nice feature, it is hygenic and it also helps from using too much. This foundation made me break out really bad. I usually do not breakout from foundations. I am also very clean with my brushes, making sure I clean them everytime I am done using them. I also make sure I clean my face every night especially if I am wearing foundation that day. I never really have an acne problem(Just little blemishes around the time of my period.), and I got a lot of little bumps between my eye brows that are gone now, but left a lot of little dry red spots. I also got some bigger blemishes around my chin and on my cheeks. I do not know why this particular foundation broke me out, but if you have acne prone skin I do not recommend this foundation. I am still suffering from the effects on this foundation, I just am so greatful for my zap zit. Which will lead me onto my next review..

Forgot about this blog!

Hey guys I am so sorry about not writing in here. I totally forgot about it, and it has been over a year since I updated it. I don't think I had any real followers yet so I am hoping it is okay. =] Anywhoo, so I am planning on updating this thing more regularly with reviews, and tips and tricks and maybe a tutorial or two. =] I tried the youtube thing, but it is a lot of time to film and edit the videos. I figured I could just write in here and get my feelings out about products. =] If you like you can request something that you want reviewed. I bet you are thinking, "Why should I trust what you say?" Well I have a lot of experience with makeup, and beauty related things. I am a tell it like it is person, and if I don't like a product I will tell you I don't like a product. I do not have any training, but I do not think someone has to have training to do reviews. I will also try to post eye of the day, or look of the day, but it is so hard to take a picture of just your eye!
Anyways, that is enough of an intro I guess. I will end it for now.
